Instructional Technologies Support - Academic Computing strives to bring consistency, security, productivity, and innovation to all of our open lab environments. In keeping with these goals, the core software package has been standardized across all of the open labs for a consistent use experience. This software includes:
Microsoft Office 2013
MS Visual Studio 2012
Google Google Sketch up
VLC (DVD Player)
Real Player Cloud
SAP Front End
SSH Secure Shell
Adobe Creative Cloud
In addition to our standard set of programs, the following software has been made available in this specific lab.
The "Software Zone" located in the enclosed portion of lab include computers numbers 76, 77, 78, 79 and the Blumberg machine.
The "Video Production Area" located behind the Collaboration Rooms have 3 high powered computers with extra memory and storage just for video editing and production use only. Ask for assistance to access these machines.
Printing in our Open Computer Labs is free for all Texas State University Students currently enrolled with an active username. A per semester limit is set for each student of 2500 pages. Extensions to this limitation are determined on a case by case basis. To request an extension please send an email to email@example.com.
Our print system is intended to be a resource for students to complete classwork only. While we do not monitor the types of jobs printed in a given semester, request for extensions beyond the standard limitation will include a review of past jobs printed. Pages printed for departments or organizations using lab resources will result in a denial of printing extentions.
