Classroom Technologies provides assistance to instructors in the operation of technologies on campus. Our focus includes the design, installation, and maintenance of instructional technologies in the 1st-call classrooms and teaching theaters. We manage the center for rental of portable equipment in support of academic courses and events. We also operate and maintain three videoconferencing classrooms at the Alkek library in San Marcos and two videoconferencing classrooms at the Avery building in the Round Rock Higher Education Center.

A request for training may be scheduled in advance through our Online Form.
Software installed on 1st-call classrooms: The computer systems in our care have a standard set of software designed to meet the needs of instruction and presentation. A request for special software installation may be possible, if the software and proper licensing is provided ahead of time with our Online Form. Estimates are only valid for 3 months. When an estimate is accepted, Classroom Technologies will order the equipment and schedule the work to be performed. Installations completed by Classroom Technologies are enrolled in our annual courtesy check. These installations are also eligible for fee-based routine maintenance and replacements/upgrades. Contact can be made through 512- 245- 4822. Submit the Online Form for a consultation.

Technical support for discussion panels and events: Currently Classroom Technologies is not staffed to support non-academic events on evenings or weekends, however, with two(2) weeks advanced notice, it may be possible to hire a technician to assist in a high-level academic event, provided it is part of a class or class project between the hours of 8:00AM - 9:30PM on Mondays – Thursdays, and 8:00AM - 5:00 PM on Fridays. The technician rate is $30.00 per hour with a minimum of one hour. This rate does not include the necessary audio/visual equipment, which may be rented in advance through our office. Contact can be made through 512- 245- 4822 or start with our Online Form for a consultation.
Technical support of non-instructional spaces: A non-instructional space could be any room where the primary use of the space is not related to scheduled instruction, and/or the equipment is not operated or maintained by Classroom Technologies. Some examples are: labs, conference rooms, and meeting spaces. For the support of these spaces, our goal will be to help you find the best technical support to match your request, or provide consultation to upgrade your existing system. Classroom Technologies can help departments develop spaces with supportable standards. (see Design/Consult/Build)
