TXTV is the Universitie's cable channel. Media Production is the origination point and maintains the University cable television system. Texas State Television cablecasts to all Texas State University and San Marcos cable subscribers.

TXTV's goal is to provide programming that:

• supports the University's teaching and learning activities
• provides essential information about University activities
• extends access to services and programs for students
• provides an outlet through which the creative media work of faculty, staff, students and other university comunity members reach an audience
