Faculty Showcase - Virtual Worlds

Geography professor Dr. Brock Brown collaborated with Instructional Technologies Support (ITS) to create a field school in the virtual world of Second Life.  At a Faculty Showcase in November sponsored by ITS, Brown and two members of the ITS team, Emin Saglamer and Robyn Herry, showed the virtual field school and talked about its creation.  Dr. Brown shared his experiences as a teacher in Second Life and discussed the benefits of the virtual experience for students over traveling to a real world field school.
