Instructional Technologies Support invites you to join us for one or more workshop sessions May 26-28, 2009. These sessions provide knowledge and skills on technology topics that can help you with teaching and learning.
All sessions are offered in Alkek Room148.

Building Online Communities

This workshop covers the benefits of fostering an online community in your class. You will see examples of how online communication tools, such as Adobe Connect, Facebook, and Twitter, can be used to help build community in your classes. Hands-on experience will be gained with various social networking tools.

Introduction to Second Life

Take a tour of educational sites in Second Life (SL) including the Texas State virtual campus, to see how Second Life is bring used in education. Participants will leave the workshop with an improved sense of what the SL environment is capable of, pros and cons of using SL in their classes/projects, how to locate others with similar interests, and how to get support at TXSTATE for SL projects.
